Title: Asperger Syndrome: The Universe and Everything
Author(s): Hall, Kenneth
Published: 2001
Copies: 2
Summary: Written by a child, Kenneth Hall, diagnosed with AS at the age of eight. He describes some of the inner experiences and perceptions of autism in childhood.
Parent Comments: This is one of the few "5 star" books on Amazon.com where there are more than 10 reviews, and for good reason! Kenneth Hall is an exceptionally gifted boy with Asperger's Syndrome who writes beyond his years. He shows a certain king of introspection for a 10 year old that is, simply put, amazing! He talks about his condition as something to be celebrated not mourned. He writes with wit, clarity and charm. Countless people who I have talked to have shared this book with their newly diagnosed children who have all benefited from reading this young man's words. If I were to recommend one book for young children with Asperger's Syndrome to read, this would be the one. Nick Dubin M.A ED
