Online Asynchronous Lesson Planning

Description : Yes, your content can be engaging and interactive! This hands-on workshop will demonstrate how online asynchronous lessons can be developed using the Moodle Lesson tool or H5P Branching Scenario, Interactive Book or Course Presentation. You may come prepared with ideas for automated content, its structure, and any choices you want them to make or knowledge check questions along the way. If you don't have an idea in mind, this workshop can show some examples that may inspire you.

Digital Accessibility and Title II Compliance

Description : A 2024 update to the regulations for Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) clarifies the scope and timeline for digital accessibility compliance at public universities. These new federal regulations established a compliance deadline of April 2026. This update requires that faculty and staff ensure accurate and fully accessible materials in Moodle and eSpace. This workshop will demonstrate the necessary steps to make your materials compliant. The workshop will also feature our eSpace: Digital Accessibility - Title II Compliance, which guides participants through the steps of establishing a compliant Moodle course page, documents, and multimedia. e-LIS: Tech Focus - Sharing Podcasts and Accessible Audio Content

Description : Do you love listening to podcasts? Maybe you've started incorporating them into your courses, or maybe you want to. In this workshop, we'll cover the best practices for sharing podcasts in your course. In this hands-on session, you'll build your own Moodle Page with an embedded podcast player, so students can listen right in Moodle! We'll also talk about important accessibility considerations, the basics of finding or making a transcript, and a few tips for recording your own audio content. Space is limited, so sign up today! Description : Are students asking you to use Moodle more in your face-to-face course? Have you avoided using Moodle because you are just not a techie? Then this workshop is for you! We will explore simple ways to use Moodle that will make life easier for any level computer user. You will learn about Moodle's main communication tools, ways to organize class content, resources and the gradebook. We will also look at the advantages of using Moodle for faculty and students, as well as other training services available through e-LIS.

Media Management: Where to Store Your Online Videos

Description : If you have videos, or are planning to have videos in your Moodle course, this workshop will cover options for storing your Zoom, YuJa, Panopto, and YouTube. To help you decide which is best, the accessibility of your videos will be discussed as well as the ability to embed interactive questions.

Easy Grading With Moodle Rubrics and Grading Guides

Description : Are you looking for a simpler, faster way to grade your students' Moodle Assignments and Forums? Moodle Rubrics and Grading Guides might be right for you! No more manually checking off boxes in a Word Doc! Instead, we'll show you how to rebuild your old rubrics into interactive online ones that automatically add up totals and transfer grades to your gradebook. This will help you save time and grade each student consistently. Semester Transition Extravaganza

Description : Come to the 4th floor of the library to work on your semester wrap-up and next semester's course transition. Both e-LIS and CETL will be present to assist. While you are here, save tons of time by double-checking your grade book setup and learning how to quickly export your Moodle grades into Banner (SAIL). Being proactive doesn't stop there - we can also help you import your course into your future semester course, and utilize the Moodle SpeedDater to quickly update your assignment and quiz due dates for next semester, and general semester prep like syllabus updates. Drop in on this hands-on lab in order to have a procrastination-free break!
