Collaborative Reflection with “Mapping Participatory Media”
Description : While reflective practice often occurs as a siloed activity, this Mapping Participatory Media tool facilitates a collaborative action-based guide to reflection for collaborative engagement. As a result of the session, you will be able to organize a research plan involving other participants, identify multiple components impacting a research process, and visualize and record elements of a research process in one place to assist reflective actions and better define research outcomes as a working cohort. Description : We assign homework and tests to measure student learning, but how do we know whether these activities measure the right knowledge, skills, and dispositions? In this workshop we will review multiple types of assessment such as small assessments used for growth (formative) and varied assessments for applying knowledge differently. Then we will apply these concepts to specific scenarios.
