ADA Course Compliance Sandbox Series

Description : This series is designed to help faculty remediate files for their online courses. Join us to focus on a specific technology for ADA compliance. Each session will demonstrate using accessibility software to remediate or proactively create accessible digital files and materials. Panorama Accessibility Tool for ADA Compliance (NEW)

Description : This workshop will introduce YuJa Panorama, a powerful new accessibility tool integrated within Moodle and eSpace to support faculty and staff in their digital accessibility and compliance efforts. Participants will learn how Panorama automatically scans and helps remediate accessibility issues in course pages as well as files uploaded to their courses. The session will also demonstrate Panorama DocHub, which allows faculty, staff, and students to upload files for accessibility remediation—even when those files are not part of a Moodle or eSpace course page. Finally, attendees will see how the Panorama accessibility button within the Moodle and eSpace HTML editor toolbar can scan and assist with improving the accessibility of content such as forum posts, online essays, and other written submissions. Semester Transition Extravaganza

Description : Come to the 4th floor of the library to work on your semester wrap-up and next semester's course transition. Both e-LIS and CETL will be present to assist. While you are here, save tons of time by double-checking your grade book setup and learning how to quickly export your Moodle grades into Banner (SAIL). Being proactive doesn't stop there - we can also help you import your course into your future semester course, and utilize the Moodle SpeedDater to quickly update your assignment and quiz due dates for next semester, and general semester prep like syllabus updates. Drop in on this hands-on lab in order to have a procrastination-free break!

Description : Are students asking you to use Moodle more in your face-to-face course? Have you avoided using Moodle because you are just not a techie? Then this workshop is for you! We will explore simple ways to use Moodle that will make life easier for any level computer user. You will learn about Moodle's main communication tools, ways to organize class content, resources and the gradebook. We will also look at the advantages of using Moodle for faculty and students, as well as other training services available through e-LIS.

Description : (Teaching Presence) In online classes, some students may feel isolated and mention a lack of human connection. In this workshop, we will discuss strategies to create and build community in your online classes so all of your students can shine. By the end of this workshop, you will be able to foster different types of interactions in your online class and begin to build a strong community where your students can succeed.

Description : Using Zoom and YouTube, faculty and staff are able to quickly and easily create videos and store them for long-term use. In this workshop, we will discuss and demonstrate the steps to make a Zoom cloud recording and then upload your video file to YouTube. Participants will also learn about some basic YouTube settings and how to share videos with others.

Description : Come learn the three easy steps to create Moodle quizzes: create question bank categories, populate your question bank, then add questions. You'll learn how to import multiple choice questions directly into Moodle, how to minimize potential cheating, and how to use other tools like Camtasia and H5P for student engagement quizzes. Even experienced Moodle quiz users can learn new tricks in this workshop!
