Digital Accessibility and Title II Compliance
Description : A 2024 update to the regulations for Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) clarifies the scope and timeline for digital accessibility compliance at public universities. These new federal regulations established a compliance deadline of April 2026. This update requires that faculty and staff ensure accurate and fully accessible materials in Moodle and eSpace. This workshop will demonstrate the necessary steps to make your materials compliant. The workshop will also feature our eSpace: Digital Accessibility - Title II Compliance, which guides participants through the steps of establishing a compliant Moodle course page, documents, and multimedia. Artificial Intelligence and H5P Smart Import

Description : Join our e-LIS Instructional Designers to learn how you can effectively and mindfully incorporate AI tools into your teaching in this new AI Sandbox Series! As more AI tools become incorporated into the world and workforce, we all know how important it is for our students to understand how to responsibly use these tools. But what does that look like in practice? In this workshop, you'll learn how you can start that conversation by having your students use an AI tool like ChatGPT or Copilot as part of an assignment. We will discuss our recommendations for designing an equitable assignment that takes into account students' access and concerns, as well as various options for designing AI-supported assignments based on your course's learning objectives. You'll walk away with a set of assignment instructions you can use to conduct an AI-supported assignment in your own course.
